About the artist

Forti Daniela

Italy

Daniela Forti, born in 1960 in Rome, is an artist who specializes in glass, a material she has studied and mastered through years of research and experimentation. After learning glassmaking techniques in Rome's artisan shops, she embraced methods like leaded glass, Tiffany, and fusion. Forti has developed a deep understanding of glass's "indomitable character," working with metal and glass through processes such as re-firing and sanding. She describes glass as a challenging yet magical medium, bending it to her will through imagination and passion.

About the artwork

Cosmo Cratere

Sculptures. Fused glass.

Hand selected by our curators

These sculptures contrast the solidity of fused glass with vibrant fluorescent pigments. Shaped like circular discs, their textured surfaces feature ripples and trapped bubbles, reflecting light unpredictably. Dominant blues and aquas evoke distant planets. Under UV light, fluorescent pigments glow, revealing hidden details. Supported by a slim metal structure, the piece balances natural force and modernity, inviting dynamic visual contemplation.
