Laura Pomponi’s journey into design was anything but conventional. With a background in engineering and years spent working in telecommunications technology, after visiting over 120 countries, she found herself drawn more and more toward the emotional side of creation—spaces that speak to the people who live in them. In 2008, she founded her own studio to bring together technical expertise and human-centered design.
Laura believes that true design begins with understanding. Every project she undertakes is fully customized, with no repeating fabrics, layouts, or solutions. Whether she’s working on a sleek 37-meter yacht or a colorful, contemporary space, her goal is always the same: to reflect the identity and lifestyle of the client. Technical elements—like lighting, ceilings, and structure—are carefully integrated to enhance the overall experience without distracting from it.
Art plays a central role in her process. Laura often invites artists into the early stages of a project, not simply to decorate but to shape the concept itself. The result is spaces where walls, textures, and forms become part of a larger artistic narrative.
“Design is about identity,” Laura says. “We listen closely, and we create what they didn’t know they needed.”
Now, in collaboration with Dutch architect Hans, her business associate , Laura is developing new yacht design platforms — that combines creativity and structure to deliver spaces that are both emotionally resonant and highly functional.
