About
Anthropomorphic terracotta vases that recover only the shape of traditional ceramic heads with lively Sicilian decorations. Stefania Boemi creates them manually with the happy intuition of eliminating the veil of the ceramic surface with a monochromatic and rigorously opaque treatment, revealing the forms with a very modern purity.

Boemi Stefania
Stefania Boemi lives and works in Catania. She searches for objects from the past that convey emotions related to memory. Her objects are "Sicilian things", selected, unstitched and stitched up, stripped and repainted, dismantled and reassembled to bring many obsolete objects to new interpretations of utility. Each piece of furniture is assembled by hand and transformed into a unique piece.
Happy craftsmanship and attention to tradition make her a testimony of the importance of conservation and possible reinterpretation in a contemporary key for the artisan design market. Boemi's project gives a proud affirmation of Sicilian beauty, of those things that have always existed and we don't want to forget.
