Colombo Fabio

Born in Genoa in 1984, Fabio Colombo has always felt the need to leave signs of his passage. Restless by nature, viscerally attracted to the beauty of any nature and highly dedicated to brooding, inner conflict, the cross-section of duplicity, and the study of bonds. The messages in his works embrace moments of life in its intangible reality, only perceived. Through contrasts, textures, and details, he represents the texture of relationships: his works, primarily acrylics and related studies on the intimacy of the human condition, often reveal a feeling of suffocating immobility and emotional captivity.

He moves bidirectionally, on two parallel paths: traditional works (acrylic, pigment, stucco, and inks) on canvas, panels or fine papers on one side, and digital painting works, often coming from hand-made sketches, and printed on Hahnemühle papers. The works range from the most brutal and predominantly black to opposing explosions of colors. From total pessimistic darkness, like the black days in which we stumble in everyday life, to the livelier colors of the impulses that, at times, our existence gives us.
