About the artist

Mastromarino Michele

Italy

Michele Mastromarino (Altamura, 1980) is an artist and architect whose work explores matter, stratification, memory, and Genius Loci. Trained in architecture in Rome, he developed a parallel artistic practice rooted in lived experience, urban landscapes, and travel. His painting is a free, tactile process of layering and subtraction, where architecture and art coexist—order and instinct, space and memory, measure and freedom.

Echi 04_2026 explores memory through layered textures, marks, and traces that suggest fragments of an unfinished story. Earthy, weathered tones and engraved lines create a sense of depth and resonance, balancing material and emptiness while evoking the lingering presence of past experiences.
