About the artist

Henriot Piers

France

A conceptual artist, Piers works across multiple media, from painting and illustration to photography and installations, including sound. He graduated from the Nantes Regional School of Fine Arts (ERBAN) in 2004, following a course in sound, film, and digital photography at the School of Fine Arts in Dundee, Scotland. Piers has participated in numerous exhibitions both in France and abroad, with works held in private collections. His paintings and drawings explore the infinite possibilities of geometric and architectural forms, blending and layering them to the point of saturation. This apparent chaos reflects how we perceive fragments of life, where the whole picture often remains elusive. In his work, wood and oil paint are the predominant mediums, applied with grainy, textured, and plastic effects.

This geometric abstraction features bold, angular forms in a limited palette of white, black, deep gray, and mustard yellow. The interlocking shapes create a sense of depth and movement, as if they are shifting or emerging from the canvas. The textured surface adds a tactile dimension, inviting closer exploration.
