Yang Jooyeon Judy

Joo Yeon "Judy" Yang was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1982, and currently works and resides in Long Island City, NY. She earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She furthered her studies in Printmaking, focusing on etching, at the Art Students League of New York, before completing her MFA in Painting at Pratt Institute. Yang has exhibited internationally, showcasing her works at institutions like the OH ART FOUNDATION in Chicago, The Korean Cultural Center in New York, and Skidmore Contemporary Art Gallery in Santa Monica. Her awards include the Full Fellowship from the Vermont Studio Center and First Prize in Fine Art at Endangered Art and Photography in Miami. Yang’s work continues to explore themes of identity and culture through a dynamic fusion of media.
