Marianna Romani's admiration for the portrait painting brings her to develop the "Ethnic Portraits Collection" where the intent is to represent a specific and powerful human condition found during her travels in Asia and Africa. As a matter of fact, the aim of this collection is to show, from her point of view, the inner essence, the great strength and expressiveness of the faces encountered through a refined explosion of colors.
The artist revealed us that this project took part right after editing her travel photographic documentation mainly based on African and Asian close-ups: "The fabulous colors that outline the countries I visited had been fundamental to my investigation: the results are a clear and reasoned combination of primary, secondary, and complementary colors that brings a strong emotional charge. At last, I aimed to emphasize the charm and idiosyncrasy of these fabulous, cheerful, cordial, sunny and humble people who simultaneously "hide" in their deep intimacy a sort of melancholic awareness. We selected five canvases with the same dimensions and artistic technique.

Marianna Romani was born on January 15 1989, in San Benedetto del Tronto. She is a multifaceted artist: a painter, a marble stonemason and an Italian restorer specialized in canvases and wooden materials. She approached painting under the guidance of his father, self-taught painter and sculptor, and made her very first creations at the age of five, painting the skyline of the Marche. In 2008 she graduated in Art Master at the Artistic Lyceum of Porto San Giorgio at the same time she set up and designed the collective exhibition "Soul and Body" at the Palazzina Azzurra in San Benedetto del Tronto. There have been numerous commissions in the field of fashion for painting on leather labels for jeans, on buttons, leather and fabric jackets, trousers and first-line bags. She also proposes drawings and projects conceived entirely by her which give rise to very interesting capsule collections.
Her future plans already have a solid basis of visceral interest and study of color; the desire to reproduce in her works greater maturity, expressiveness and stylistic grandeur will be implemented through new works that will focus on new subjects already identified in new journeys to other worlds. In parallel, she will continue to conceive and create collaborations in the field of fashion, a world in constant evolution. Currently, the artist lives, loves, creates and paints in Bologna, a land of art and experimentation.
