    About

This is my tribute to a little girl who was a victim of the atomic bomb and I wanted to tell her story of one thousand origami since I lived many years in Nagasaki and I will take with me this girl forever together with all the innocent victims of the nuclear. When the explosion occurred AMYchan was blown out of the window. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with acute malignant disease. She moved into a hospital and given no more than a year to live. Amychan set herself a goal to have the time of folding 1000 origami before floating away. Japanese children all over the country create little cranes origami in memory of the young heroine. That tragic death inspired Dagestani Russian poet Rasul Gamzatov, who wrote an Avar poem, Zhuravli, which became one of Russia's greatest war ballads. This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace in the world.
