Corpicrudi

Samantha Stella is an Italian visual artist, performer, director, set & costume designer, singer/musician. She works on projects mainly focused on body and live-art based practice, through the use of different languages - installations containing structural and bodily elements, photo, video, music, voice.
In 2005 she founded with Sergio Frazzingaro the visual artist duo called Corpicrudi (literally "rawbodies"); in 2015 she began a solo career also thanks to Italian art curator Francesca Alfano Miglietti, and a collaboration with songwriter Nero Kane, that took shape in her first film directed in California and presented in 2018 and 2019 together with a series of live concerts.
Her work was featured in contemporary art galleries, museums, theaters, churches and castles, with international premières, including: Joyce Theater New York; Amaturo Theatre Brodward Center for the Performing Arts, Miami; Pavillon Noir, Aix-en-Provence; Castello Aragonese in Taranto, home of the Italian Navy; Auditorium Parco della Musica, Rome; Musei Strada Nuova, Genoa; Duomo in Molfetta; Basilica S. Maria Maggiore, Bergamo; Ace Museum, Los Angeles; Italian Cultural Institute Los Angeles; Museo Marca, Catanzaro; Museo Macro Asilo, Rome; Museo Madre, Napoli; Museo Internazionale e Biblioteca della Musica, Bologna.
