Di Marco Maria Vittoria

Maria Vittoria Di Marco was born in Rome and grew up inspired by the magnificence of the city. Because of the intimate need to capture fragments of time and turn them into a representation, she begins to photograph details and moments which, in the artist's interpretation, are transformed into symbols and metaphors. Moved by the deep desire to find her own expression through images, Di Marco begins to filter her art essentially through the lens of the camera. With Untitled LO.VE (2018-19) project, she shapes the idea of representing love using flowers, spontaneously associated with the figure of the female Eros. Manipulated and transformed, these natural elements become bodies, captured in their movement, in an indefinite color, in a balance of delicacy and sensuality.
The artist's message, expressed through her shots, wants to be concrete and evanescent, mysterious and imperfect at the same time. Di Marco, photographer on the move, privileges freedom of expression, basing the technical choices on the subject and the moment immortalized. The light and the diaphragm define Di Marco's intentionally imprecise trace, devoid of pre-established styles and methods, simple and complex, completely turned at the ephemeral soul of the moment.

Untitled LO.VE is an ongoing project that focuses on the representation of love through beauty, love consciousness and its deep understanding.
The flowers created by Di Marco are bodies captured in their delicacy and sensuality. They represent the dichotomy of life. The black and white flowers visualize melancholy and purity in contrast to ones of color that embodies eros through love and sensuality.
It is an ‘Untitled Love’ as Di Marco aims to spread love through the viewer’s perception of the flower manipulated by her hands, giving them an expression of love that must be named by them following the emotions that are produced in them.
This is perceived in the fluidity of the petals and flowers themselves that are turned into a beautiful silk, almost like a skin. Hence, portraying the flowers in this way and placing them in a design context, in a house or in any space, they can produce a sense of serenity and love.
